MENTORING THE KIDS
Mentoring is proven to have a powerful and positive long-lasting effect on young people. Many children don’t get the opportunity to be involved in activities that other children take for granted that are vital to their long term growth and development.
Approved volunteers agree to provide mentoring and friendship to a young person between the ages of 7 and 17. They commit to spending quality time with a carefully selected young person for approximately 2 hours per fortnight for a period of 12 months.
They are responsible for developing a mutually co-operative, supportive and fun relationship. They act as a positive role model and encourage new experiences and opportunities to assist a young person to reach their full potential.
Volunteers undergo child safety screening and training together with ongoing support and supervision from ConnnectKids.
If you feel like your child, or a child in your care, could benefit from a caring adult for mentoring and friendship, please fill out the application below and we will be in contact with you.
